John Toth and Joan Grossman "River Virtual Installation," 2009, video and fabric installation and sound composition. 3:03
This video uses a virtual reality model of a fabric installation for a museum proposal.
Video sequences surround viewers and draw them into rich encounters – some are purely experiential; others draw on passages from diary accounts that documented Hudson's journey (observations of abundant wildlife – now gone – and encounters both friendly and violent with local "savages"); and still other sequences explore aspects of a word or phrase (the flow of time, the flow of water, the flow of people).

John Toth "Rock Rose" 2009, animated stills and sound composition for fabric installation. 2:05 min
Rock Rose is a video sketch that explores the process of suspended time. Hovering over the surface of an object of nature. Finding new meaning between the micro and macro views that blur the line between near and far.
Creating a backdrop for a performance installation, the projected video would move at the pace of the dance and the rhythm of the sound.
